Four Tips to Amplify your Reiki Session with Me

New to the idea of Reiki? Or not sure what to expect seeing a new Reiki Master? Check out the tips below to get the most out of your session with me.

  1. Prepare for relaxation! Drink water, try to avoid caffeine, and have a light snack a couple of hours beforehand. You don't want to be too caffeinated or too stuffed, but you also don't want to have a headache or a rumbling stomach when trying to relax. The Reiki Session will take place on a massage table while fully clothed, so wear something comfortable! You can also accept a blanket before settling into your session if you tend to get cold. Please plan on arriving at least 10 minutes before your first session to complete an intake form and use the restroom if necessary.

  2. Keep an open mind. Reiki is based on the principle that every living being has a vital life force energy. When these energy pathways become blocked or stagnant, it can result in feelings of stress, exhaustion, and insomnia, among many other ailments. Reiki Practitioners and Masters are trained and attuned to channel these energies, which supports the client's return to energetic alignment. Many clients make Reiki a part of their overall self-care and wellness routine.

  3. Everybody and all bodies are different. Some Reiki clients may experience warmth, tingling, or pulsing sensations where the practitioner places their hands. Others may feel these sensations running throughout their body. It is not uncommon to feel or hear rumbling around the stomach, and digestive area as this is just another result of energy movement. Some clients do not perceive any change at all.

  4. Allow processing to continue after the session. Try not to schedule a full day of activities after your appointment. If you were getting a massage, would you want to go to the gym or grocery shopping right after? Give yourself some time to relax. Be sure to drink plenty of water, and allow the time you need to reintegrate into your day.
